Abstract
A combined approach that uses the microscopic properties of collagen fibers to obtain the parameters necessary to describe the macroscopic behavior of the collagen membrane gel is introduced. The procedure is described for a 2-dimensional system (collagen membrane) and is easily extended to three dimensions.
