Abstract
The issues related to power network systems and the development of emergency controls and restoration is discussed. The parameter settings and structures of the protection devices and controllers in the electricity contributes to the power outages. The improvement in the system's ability through modernizing the power grid helps the system to respond to threats. A balanced approach to investments in technology and through greater awareness, improved training and adequate monetary resources can help in reducing risk.
