Abstract
Polyurethane is a very important polymeric biomaterial, widely used in the preparation of implants and medical devices. This chapter highlights recent research developments in polyurethanes for biomedical applications, including biocompatibility and biostability evaluation, for drug-controlled release carriers, for cardiovascular implants and for medical supplies. We conclude with an outlook of the future of polyurethane.
