The synthesis of [Mn4(anca)4(Hmdea) 2(mdea)2]·2CHCl3 (1) is reported along with room temperature fluorescence, UV-vis, and NMR spectra. Direct current magnetization versus field data reveal a S = 8 ground state. Quantized steps in temperature- and field-dependent magnetization versus field hysteresis loops confirm single-molecule magnet behavior.
