Phase behavior of flowing polymer mixtures

Polymeric mixtures are frequently processed under flowing conditions. Observations of the flow modification of the apparent phase behavior of polymer fluids have been made for thirty years, but a coherent data base and theoretical interpretation are still lacking. An attempt to organize all the observations systematically is made here, along with a critical examination of the current status of the data, theory and technological significance.
