Perspectives on development of definitions and values related to old-growth forests

Abstract

The definitions and values related with managing of the old-growth forests were discussed. The thresholds criterion for delimiting old growth are based on tree size and age. The perspectives of using the ability of old-growth to recover afer natural disturbance and climate change in restoration of second-growth landscape were also presented.
