Abstract
A perioperative stroke is any stroke occurring during or within 30 days of surgery. This chapter helps to identify patients at high risk of perioperative stroke, reviews medical management options in the perioperative period, and categorizes procedures based on bleeding risk and whether cessation of antithrombotic therapy is warranted.
