Abstract

Patterned lubricant films based on microstructured perfluoropolyether to achieve higher recording density were studied. The spatial distance between the bonded lubricant, area percentage of bonded lubricant molecules and their density could be controlled. Results showed improved film uniformity or lubricant retention property and better reliability using the proposed technology.
