Abstract

The oxygen uptake rate of swine testicular cells grown on microcarriers is affected by glucose concentration. A higher uptake rate is observed when the glucose in the culture is depleted. The addition of glucose to the culture results in an immediate decrease in oxygen uptake. Removal of glucose results in an immediate return to the original rate.
