Abstract

The discontinuity of the sound due to ossicular pathologies such as fixation, dislocation, or resorption will lead to a conductive hearing loss. If an ossicular erosion is suspected in a case with chronic otitis media, each ossicle should be evaluated independently during surgery. To restore sound transmission, ossiculoplasty may be required following the eradication of middle ear cleft pathologies.
