Abstract

Flow visualization using the shadowgraph and Schlieren techniques and flow visualization, flow measurement, and measurement of temperature and density in flowing fluids using interferometric techniques are discussed. The physical optics of each technique is analysed, and various arrangements of equipment to apply are described and reviewed. Applications of the techniques are illustrated. (N.G.G.)
