Optical Diagnostics Investigating Iron Nanoparticle Formation using an Inductively-Coupled Plasma

Abstract

Gas temperature measurements are performed in an innovative iron nanoparticle synthesizer based on a miniature inductively-coupled plasma. The optical emission spectroscopy measurements based on N2 and OH rotational structures are combined with measurements of the size of the nanoparticles and size distribution to assess the suitability of this novel approach for carbon nanotube synthesis.
