Abstract

Let x₁x₂ ··· x_n be any set of number satisfying Σ x_i=0 Σ x_i²=1. There are bounds on the range of x_i when the set x_i is ranked (a) by x₁≥x₂≥ ··· ≥ x_n and (b) by x₁≥x₂≥ ··· ≥x_n. These bounds are given. The applicability to finite populotionr is pointed out. © Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
