Abstract
The actual maximum depth of a storm is seldom measured but is usually approximated by the maximum recorded depth. These depths can be quite different depending on the raingauge density and the spatial rainfall pattern. This paper presents a simplified analysis of the accuracy of the maximum recorded depth in extreme rainstorms. (A)
