Abstract
The perturbative renormalization of the operator G-G in non-abelian gauge theories is reconsidered. We discuss in detail the relation between the fermion and gluon axial vector currents, aμ and Kμ, respectively. It is shown that, contrary to common belief, the term ∫G-G d4x in the lagrangian is renormalized due to infrared effects.
