Abstract

The thermodynamic properties of hot gluon matter are discussed in the context of an effective interaction model, lattice gauge theory and perturbative QCD for SU(2) and SU(3). Above the deconfinement transition there is good agreement between the models. In order to have agreement, we find that the strength of the gluon-gluon interaction and the lattice parameter must be related by K ≈ 2.9 × 103 ΛL2 for SU(3) and K ≈ 0.53 × 103 ΛL2 for SU(2).
