Abstract

Using data accumulated with the CLEO detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of L=5.63pb-1 on the peak of the ψ(2S) [3.08×106 ψ(2S) decays] and 20.70pb-1 at s=3.67GeV, we report first measurements of the branching fractions for the following 13 decay modes of the ψ(2S): η3π, η′3π, ρK+K-, K+K-π+π-π0, 2(K+K-), 2(K+K-)π0, ρpp̄, pp̄π+π-π0, ηpp̄, pp̄K+K-, ΛΛ̄π+π-, Λp̄K+, and Λp̄K+π+π-, and more precise measurements of 8 previously measured modes: 2(π+π-), ρπ+π-, 2(π+π-)π0, ωπ+π-, K+K-π+π-, ωK+K-, K+K-, and pp̄π+π-. We also report new branching fraction measurements of π+π- and ωpp̄ and upper limits for ηπ+π-, ηK+K-, and pp̄. Results are compared, where possible, with the corresponding J/ψ branching ratios to provide new tests of the 12% rule.
