Abstract
Pregnancy among adolescents—who are often poor, undereducated, and unmarried—is associated with prematurity and low birth weight infants. In spite of the many physical and psychosocial problems these young women experience, pregnant teenagers want to have healthy babies and have an immediate incentive to improve their diets. Services and programs specific to pregnant teenagers are needed.
