Numerical signal averaging for cycle determination

Abstract

Signal averaging is a well known digital method, used in instrumentation for the detection of signals buried into noise. It is well suited for a repetitive signal triggered by another signal, or for periodic signals of a known period. The authors have completed the method with a procedure which allows cycle determination in time series.
