Abstract
This paper describes a low-loss microstrip matching circuit with large bandwidth for connecting a laser diode of nominal impedance of 2 Ωto a 50 Ω system. The technique utilizes a microstrip Chebvshev transformer without very wide line widths to obtain the match at a center frequency of 10.5 GHz with a bandwidth of 9 GHz, an insertion loss of less than 1.5 dB, and a reflection coefficient of better than - 10 dB.
