Abstract

By taking into account technical and economic features, a brief review is presented for the basic topologies and methods of self-excited induction generators (SEIGs). Three novel solutions are described in more detail; two of them are based on resonant circuit application, the third one applies a switched condenser topology using a novel control method based on space vector (SV) theory. In these solutions, the theoretical considerations are confirmed by computer simulations and laboratory test results.
