Abstract
In Evie Shockley and Franny Choi’s poetry, the feminine speaking subject is a shining thing. A cup, a borg—objects made, not begotten. Shockley’s “My Life as China” forges a hard, glittering “I” out of flesh and bone, while Choi’s “Turing Test_Problem Solving” hammers a machine into meat.
