Abstract

This paper deals with reaction-convection processes modeled by firstorder hyperbolic PDE systems. Specifically, wo consider processes wit.h fast and slow reactions in the possible presence of fast transport mechanism. In order to derive non-stiff PDE or ODE approximations of the slow dynamics, we propose a model reduction method based on singular perturbation arguments. The efficacy of the approach is illustrated through a representative example.
