Non-invasive approach to arterial compliance

Abstract

A noninvasive method for the determination of arterial compliance in order to detect the predestination to heart disease of some patients is presented. A theoretical model and its solution, as well as the principle of operation in practical implementation, are discussed. Also presented are the results of some computer simulation. The aim is to apply the method for diagnostics in normal health care. The first results are very promising, but the population of patients is still too small for definitive conclusions.
