Abstract

The noise in permalloy magnetic square shaped dots and chains of dots has been investigated. With the application of a magnetic field to control the energy barriers, individual dots exhibit random telegraph noise (RTN). The noise spectrum of chains of dots, the superposition of the RTN of individual dots, exhibits a 1/ ${f}$ noise spectrum.
