Abstract
In section 2.3.3 We discussed the tractography. We did not do the manual tractography (as is currently described), but rather we ran AutoTract, followed by manual refinement of tracts in 3D Slicer. The current description needs to be adapted (I pasted below a paragraph from a recent grant submission): Therefore, the sentence in the published manuscript should be corrected to: “Fiber tractography in atlas space is performed using AutoTract (Ngattai Lam et al., 2018; Valladon et al., 2025), an atlas-guided tractography and deep learning-based fiber bundle classification tool (Ngattai Lam et al., 2018; Valladon et al., 2025). Tractography is carried out only once in atlas space. Manual refinement is then performed by a trained editor (first author) using 3D Slicer, involving visual inspection and editing of the resulting tracts according to established anatomical definitions (Short et al., 2022). Profiles of white matter microstructure of FA, MD, RD and AD are extracted in native, individual subject space, via inverse mapping of the diffeomorphic deformation fields at equidistant (1mm spacing) points along each fiber tract. Final tract metrics will be computed by averaging the respective diffusion parameters along each fiber tract. This atlas-based profile extraction allows for the consistent and reliable identification of both whole-tract effects, as well as the spatial localization of effects along the tract (Zhu et al., 2011). The authors apologize for this error.
