Natural killer cell function in the selenium deficient rat

Abstract

Natural killer (NK) cell function was studied in rats following induction of aselenium deficient state. Although the selenium deficient rats had markedly reduced levels of plasma selenium and erythrocyte glutathione peroxidase, there was no statistical difference in NK cell function between the selenium deficient rats and the control rats.
