Abstract

The use of multilayered FeCo/FeCo-O soft magnetic films for recording applications was discussed. The multilayers showed an increased resistivity with the increase of oxygen flow rate or the FeCo-O layers. It was shown that the easy deposition process and co-occurrence of good soft magnetic properties and high resistivity made the multilayers suitable for writing heads and perpendicular recording media.
