Modeling the impact load buffering characteristics of footwear midsoles

Abstract

A viscoelastic footwear midsole model is developed to facilitate the research and design of shoe midsoles. This model provides a means to investigate new materials, to improve the load buffering properties of existing materials as well as to enhance rapid prototyping of footwear designs.
