Abstract
The denture-fitting surface of two soft lining materials and one acrylic denture from 3 patients with denture stomatitis were examined by light and scanning electron microscopy. The lining material showed overgrowth of the fitting surface by Candida albicans hyphae; the acrylic denture showed a surface plaque in which organisms could be identified.
