Meningitis in a Young Male Dog

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

A young dog developed profound hyperaesthesia and severe thoracolumbar rigidity. These signs followed a septicaemic illness. CSF analysis indicated an inflammatory disease of the meninges and or spinal cord but were not conclusively supportive of an infectious aetiology. The clinical signs resolved with aggressive antibiotic and corticosteroid therapy. Typical presenting signs of meningitis or meningomyelitis and the differential diagnosis of inflammatory diseases of the spinal cord are discussed.
