Abstract
We have produced evidence using a dog kidney allograft model that in graft rejection at least two mechanisms are responsible for leukocytic infiltration. Both are circulating under the conditions of this model. The first induces perivascular infiltration by round cells, does not seem to be complement dependent, and may be a prior condition for this infiltration. The second activates the complement system attracting neutrophils. The production of both factors is underway after 24 hours of sensitization.
