Abstract

We have observed the decay of the (2S) into the (1S), obtaining a branching ratio of 19.1±3.1±2.9% for the mode (2S)→π+π-+(1S). The di-pion mass spectrum peaks at large invariant mass, and the angular distribution of the di-pion system is consistent with s-wave production.
