Abstract

The title compounds [M(CO)4(trmpe)], MTi, Zr, Hf, are orange‐red to deep violet. They can be prepared according to equation (a) in 20% (Hf‐complex) to 56% (Ti‐complex) yield. The Zr‐complex 1 has a 4 : 3 piano stool structure, with all bond lengths lying in the expected range (trmpe=CH3C(CH2PMe2)3, DME=dimethoxyethane). (Figure Presented.) (Formula Presented.)
