Abstract

The proposita of the first kindred described with dysfibronectinemic Ehlers-Danlos syndrome conceived and gave birth to a normal, unaffected infant. The ability of the gravida's plasma to support collagen-induced aggregation of normal platelets improved during the pregnancy, perhaps reflecting a change in level or functional status of fibronectin and contributing to the surprisingly normal hemostasis and wound healing she enjoyed. Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type X does not preclude childbearing.
