N2 - When a conductive object is excited by a pulsed magnetic field, the eddy current is induced and the magnetoacoustic signal can be generated because of the vibration of the induced Lorentz force. A theoretical study on magnetically induced magnetoacoustic generation and conductivity reconstruction for a multi-layer cylindrical model was conducted. In the forward problem, the principle and the formulae as well as the characteristics of the acoustic generation are obtained; meanwhile, the explicit formulae of conductivity reconstruction algorithm are derived as the inverse problem solution. Computer simulations were conducted and the promising results suggest the feasibility of the proposed theory.
