Abstract
Magnetization measurements on the alloy FeAl1-xMnx (0.27 ≤ x ≤ 0.6) system have been carried out in the temperature range 85 ≤ T ≤ 300 K, and in magnetic fields up to 8 kOe. The analysis of the isothermal magnetization curves show that the samples of x ≤ 0.31 are paramagnetic and that of x ≥ 0.35 are ferromagnetically ordered. The susceptibilities of the paramagnetic samples were found to obey a Curie-Weiss law with negative paramagnetic temperatures. The magnetic behaviour was explained on the assumption of the coexistence of both the ferromagnetic and anti-ferromagnetic interactions in each sample.
