N2 - I discuss two topics that have recently emerged in connection with supersymmetry-inspired analyses of non-supersymmetric gauge theories in the limit of large number of colors, N → ∞. A nonperturbative orbifold conjecture due to Strassler predicts an infinite number of degeneracies in the hadronic spectra of SU(N) x SU(N) Yang-Mills theory with a bifundamental quark. Analysis of pure Yang-Mills suggest the existence of infinitely many (quasi)stable vacua. Domain walls separating these vacua are very peculiar; in particular, they support hadronic excitations with masses proportional to N.
