Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used in the evaluation and treatment of a large variety of medical conditions in the horse. Laparoscopy allows the objective visual assessment of the ovaries, uterine body and horns, broad ligament, and cervix within the pelvic canal. This chapter explains the step by step procedure for laparoscopic examination of the uterus and ovaries with illustrations, and lists laparoscopy equipment needed.
