abstract = "La Crescent is a very cold hardy grape cultivar that produces a white wine of excellent quality. In vineyard trials vines have tolerated temperatures as low as - 38°C. This level of hardiness has been confirmed by laboratory freezing studies. The wine has been highly rated by various taste panels. The most commonly found aromas have been apricot, citrus and pineapple. There has been an absence of herbaceous aromas or those associated with V. labrusca. La Crescent is a promising new variety for the Upper Midwest region of the U.S. and other cool climate areas where winter hardiness is a concern.",
