'Kissing bug' bites. Triatoma species as an important cause of insect bites in the Southwest

Abstract

In the last five years, we have seen approximately twenty patients with bites due to Triatoma species. We have also seen an additional twenty to thirty patients with the typical clinical picture but without complete documentation of its cause. Four representative cases are discussed.
