Abstract

The present study illustrates how, using the adiabatic temperature rise method for the kinetic parameters and a cone and plate geometry in the Rheometrics Mechanical Spectrometer (6a,b) for the viscosity rise, the kinetics and rheological information needed to model the RIM molding cycle can be obtained. Experimental results are given for a commercial RIM polyurethane system and for a model polyurethane system.
