Abstract

The single isotopic enzymatic histamine assay system has been adopted for the studying of the release of histamine from sensitized human leukocytes when challenged with the appropriate allergen. It is a simple, rapid, sensitive, and reproducible method based on the use of the enzyme histamine N-methyltransferase and the high specific activity of tritiated S adenosylmethionine.
