Abstract

A brief history of prestressed masonry construction is presented, as well as a summary of ongoing efforts to develop design provisions for prestressed masonry in the US. A brief overview of the proposed Masonry Standards Joint Committee (MSJC) design provisions for prestressed masonry is also given.
