Internal-state nonequilibrium effects for a fast, second-order reaction

Abstract

We calculate the vibrational-rotational nonequilibrium effects on the rate constant for a fast second-order reaction, and we show that they are small under typical experimental conditions. We also discuss the conditions under which such effects might be expected to be larger.
