Abstract

Critical to successful implementation of forest plans are linkages between forestry and non-forestry sectors, and between forest projects, forest sector plans, and national plans addressing economic growth, political stability and income and employment. Linkages can be made in various ways, including the addition of forestry components to agriculture and water projects. Forest sector links to national development plans will be most effective if forest plans are well conceived and clearly demonstrate the contribution forestry can make to macro goals concerning economic and social development. -Author
