Abstract

Amphotericin B + 5 fluorocytosine combinations were tested for synergism against Candida albicans. Kinetic studies, in which viability was monitored during the early hours of drug exposure in a synthetic medium, gave no indication of either synergism or additive effect. Based on these and earlier studies, it is concluded that demonstration of amphotericin B 5 fluorocytosine synergy is dependent upon methodology.
