Abstract

Effector CD8+ Tcells scan tissues to locate and kill infected host cells. In this issue of Immunity, Hickman etal. (2015) show that the exploration is not random: infected monocytes attract their assassins by secreting chemokines, which accelerates clearance of epicutaneous vaccinia virus infection.
