Abstract

Levels in Ca43 and Ca47 which can be interpreted as neutron hole states in the 1d32 and 2s12 shells have been observed through the (p, <FOR >d) reaction. For Ca43, the 1d32 hole state (T=32) lies at 0.993 MeV, while for Ca47, the indications are that the 2s12 and the 1d32 levels lie very close to 2.60 MeV. Small amounts of p-wave admixtures are found in Ca44 and to a much smaller degree in Ca48.
