Funding Information:The number of volunteer donors recruited by the Registry is still low (about 1600 donors). 1000 of them were already reported to the BMDW, with 72% typed at the level of DNA for DRBI∗ allelic specificities. A web server has been installed at the site of the National Polish Bone Marrow Donors Registry (www.bm-donor.wroc.pl). This activity would not have been possible without cooperation with international institutions, including world-wide marrow donor registries. The progress was achieved in comparison to previous years activity 1 due to support from RETRANSPLANT, a European Commission sponsored project and international cooperation, which facilitated the use of modern DNA-based technology and adjusting to the European standards in this field. This resulted in obtaining accreditation of the European Federation for Immunogenetics.
